A conversation with Anna Baltzer ©2007 Army Armstrong Films (58 minutes) |
|
Author and lecturer Anna Baltzer talks about
her experiences working with the International Women's Peace Service
in the West Bank in Palestine. Ms. Baltzer's book,
Witness in Palestine: Journal of a Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories,
documents the oppression of Palestinians on their own land, and
their continuing resistance to the dehumanizing conditions imposed by the
Israeli government.
Throughout this conversation, Anna's photographs illustrate her statements. She describes the structures of the Occupation--checkpoints, roadblocks, settlements, outposts, and The Wall--and the response of Palestinians through their daily acts of nonviolent resistance, and the activisim of Israelis. Anna's words and pictures bring fresh insight to this long-standing conflict. |
